Love Spell

Hey there!

Lately I have really been into my Love Spell Lotion and Body Mist from Victoria's Secret. I have gone through an entire bottle of both before and I am so glad I purchased them again several months ago. Love Spell is such a classic to me because I wore it throughout high school and my sensory memory gets all nostalgic when I wear it.

Do you have a certain perfume or scent that reminds you of something?

What's your favorite perfume at the moment?

How To Keep the Perfect Travel Journal

Hello

I am doing a Theatre Program in London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland for the month of August & then I am studying abroad in London (for the semester) from September to December. I have a lot to plan & figure out so for the next couple of months, I will do several travel related posts both giving advice & insight, as well as asking you for your advice!

I have been to Europe & the last few times I went I kept a journal. I look back on my entries & feel very nostalgic. I really do value being able to read details about all my experiences. Below is my journal that I kept my last time in England & I still have about 4/5 of the journal free. I got this journal as a graduation gift from one of my favorite high school teachers & it means a lot to me. So, since I have lots of free pages, I have decided to bring this one with me & hopefully fill it by the time December rolls around.

I recently read an article on how to keep the perfect travel journal & I thought I would do a condensed version of it!

1) Ask yourself who the diary is for & then decide your content & the style you write in.
2) You do not have to record every detail but details can paint the most vivid picture.
3) Use dialogue - funny quotes, inside jokes, things you overheard, interesting conversations.
4) Bring to life ALL your senses! Sensory memory is a powerful thing.
5) Tell a captivating story - avoid just listing your activities.
6) Include illustrations :)
7) Paste things in - tickets, bottle labels, snippets and receipts.
8) Write in the dates so you remember when things happened.
9) Get it down while it's fresh.
10) Having said that, it's okay to leave gaps to fill things in later. I would come back each night & frantically write down all my day's activities until my hand hurt. Sleep is pretty important, ya know? So just relax and write entries when you have some downtime.
11) Ideas of what to include: people you meet, best bits of the day, food you eat, your feelings or reactions.
12) Enjoy it. If writing feels tedious, put the pen/pencil down & come back to it.

I know that I am going to apply these tips to my own journal. I am hoping to not only travel around England and Scotland, but to travel more of Europe. These hopes of traveling all depend on how much money I make working over the summer but if I make enough, I would love to go to Ireland to visit my family & a friend, Paris for a weekend trip, & Italy for ten days for my Fall break.

Also, I have started a Pinterest board called I Dare You to Travel the World. I will probably be updating it quite often so if you have a Pinterest, feel free to follow the board if interested.

So I hope you enjoyed this post! Look for more travel posts in the next few months.
Share with me any stories you have of traveling, if you kept a journal or not! Also, do you find this journal keeping advice useful? Is there anything you would add from your experience (even if it is just a daily journal and not a travel one)?

Reading is Dreaming With Your Eyes Open

Hello everyone! I have been reading a lot this semester and as a theatre major, the majority of what I read is plays!
I did a post about reading last June called It's Always Words that Undress You. I thought I would do a post talking about specifically reading plays because I truly think that everyone should read more plays. This photo below shows only about half of the plays I have had to read this academic year so far (the rest either are in my massive anthology of plays or scripts online). There are some good ones and some that don't really make my merry go round. However, I have learned so much from reading them! Not only do you get to explore characters and unique plots, but when reading a play, envisioning the action can be so rich and entertaining! I also love how they are much shorter than a novel and are usually very concise. They are a good, relatively short, vivid read.

Some of my favorites from below include:
The Women of Lockerbie
The American Plan
Summer and Smoke
Suddenly Last Summer
Art

Some of my favorite plays not in the picture include:
Echoes
Miss Julie
Twelfe Night
Hamlet
Extremities
A Streetcar Named Desire
Hedda Gabler

My goal for when the semester ends is to read at least 25 plays over the summer.
Have you read any of these? What do you think about reading plays? Do you ever set goals for reading over the summer?

Current Beauty Favorites

Hello lovelies! It feels like it's been ages since I did a beauty related post. I wanted to share with you the products I have been loving recently.

The first product is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair. I really like using liquid concealer with an easy to use, thin brush like this. It goes on very smoothly and has been great for under my eyes and blemishes.

So next are the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm StainsThe two that I have are Sweetheart (025) and Rendezvous (040). Sweetheart is a very bright, happy pink. I don't have any other lipstick in a similar color so this is a first. I really want MAC's Candy Yum Yum, which is also a very bright pink, but I thought that this was a more reasonable price. Rendezvous is a vivid orange. I LOVE orange lips so I think this moisturizing lip stain is perfect as the weather is changing.

Next favorite is the Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Brown. I adore this product. It is so smooth when applying and stays in place for hours. I'm trying to use more brown instead of black around my eyes for a more relaxed look in the daytime.

This next fav is amazing. The Revlon Lash Potion. This mascara has been so good for my eyelashes. It truly is clump-free. I love using the Maybelline Falsies when I go out at night but I find that it can be pretty clumpy. This Lash Potion mascara though is great for the day time and makes my eyelashes look long and pretty!

The next two are my current favorite nail polishes. The first is Covergirl's Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Forever Fawn (205), a very nice solid nude color. The second is Essie's Muchi, Muchi, which is a great pale pink. I recently though got a manicure and I currently have Essie's Lilacism on my nails right now!

Let me know if you have tried any of these products! Hope you enjoyed this post :)

update | my life

Hello everybody! I have recently gained a few new followers so hello and thank you for following me :) I thought today I would do a sort of unconventional post. This is basically an update on what's going on in my life. Honestly I don't know how interesting my life really is but I thought it would be nice to share what I've been up to and hear back from you!

Spring semester of my sophomore year has been pretty damn good so far. Last semester I had a lot of anxiety and suffered from a few panic attacks. I think most of that stress was caused by the show I was stage managing and my friends, but this semester has been free of most of those worries :) I have had tons of incredible nights spent with my closest friends just hanging out and loving life. I also stage managed a show, Bobby Hebert, that just closed last night. The people I got to work were amazing and I cherish that experience so much. I am also acting in The Gas Heart, which goes up in about a month, as well as light designing again for my university's dance show in mid-April.

My spring break, which starts next Friday, is going to be filled with incredible things too! First I am going to Ft. Myers Florida to meet up with my older brother. We are spending five days at my grandparents summer home all by ourselves! I will be sure to share pictures :) After that I fly back to NYC and that night I am going to see ELLIE GOULDING in concert at Madison Square Garden with two amazing friends who I can't wait to catch up with. The rest of my break will be spent in NYC  helping out at my aunt's preschool during the day, dinners with friends, a couple Broadway and off-Broadway shows with friends at night, and dance clubs late at night. I am also seeing the Veronica Mars movie which I am so stoked for - I have been waiting so long haha.

I also recently found out I was accepted into a London/Edinburgh program for the month of August to study theatre. I am then staying in London and studying abroad for the entire semester. Extreme excitement does not even begin to explain my feelings about this... :)

So here are a few pictures I want to share with you! ENJOY.
