Monthly Favorites | March & April

Hello everybody! It seems like it has been ages since I did a favorites post. I decided to combine last month with this month, even though it is only half way through April. I have several sections of favorites for you.

The first category is Makeup!

My current foundation is this Covergirl Clean for Sensitive Skin in Ivory. Now, I actually do not have sensitive skin but I purchased this thinking it might be a good investment for days when I am particularly broken out. It has become my regular foundation now and I have really been liking it :) On top of my foundation, I have been using either my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer or my Smashbox Concealer. I then spray my Urban Decay DeSlick Setting Spray. On top of that, I have my next favorite which is my Nars Pressed Powder in the lightest tone they have, Flesh. On top of that, I put my next favorite - my Bobbi Brown Blush in Pretty Pink. I find this sequence in my daily beauty routine has been giving me great results and I really love the shade of this blush.

Next category - Beauty!

I have been loving the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They are probably my favorite ones I have ever tried. They are not only very refreshing and pleasant smelling, but they easily remove the majority of my makeup and leave my face feeling clean.
I ususally don't stick to a certain type of deodorant; however, the Dove Advanced Care Cucumber scent is probably my favorite one out there. They just came out with the Advanced Care line and I really think it is longer lasting. I will definitely keep purchasing this one!
My new eye cream is the First Aid Beuaty 5 in 1 Age Delay Eye Cream. I have been using this for about two weeks now and I feel like it is doing its job well. My last eye cream was a sample size of the Laura Mercier Eye Cream that is like $70-$90 in real size. It was great and lasted me about a month and a half of almost everyday usage. But now, for only $30, I have an eye cream that is effective and just as good, if not better!
The last one are my eye drops. I have to mention them because they are amazing. It is the Visine Advanced Redness and Irritation Relief. I have very sensitive eyes and have been having some problems with them for the past year. I find that these drops are soothing, reduce the redness, and just overall a staple for me to have at all times. They also re-wet my contacts if they feel dried out.

Next category is FOOD!!!

Two of my favorite edible items at the moment are Madhava Agave Nectar and Sahale Snacks, especially this one - Crunchers Fruit & Almond Snack. Both are healthy and make me feel really good. I use the agave nectar as an alternative to using sugar in my tea because it is much better for you. I also find that when munching on these Sahale Crunchers, a little goes a long way. I have had this pack for almost a week now and it has been a great little snack here and there.

Alright, so those are all my current favorites :) I hope you enjoyed this post and don't think it's too weird to do a favorite post in the middle of the month.
Have a great weekend (and Easter to those who celebrate) <3

Book Review | Hyperbole and a Half

This book is hilarious. Allie Brosh is so funny!! Her website named Hyperbole and a Half  is the same structure as this book and I am constantly finding myself laughing out loud as I read her quirky autobiographical tales. She describes her writing style as being stand-up comedy in writing form, which I definitely see, and her illustrations are done through Paintbrush, which is so creative!

I would recommend reading this book and if anything, checking out her website to give you a feel for what she is like.

Have you read any Allie Brosh? She has such a huge Internet following so I am sure some of you know of her!

Quotes of the Day No. 7

I haven't done a Quote of the Day post since last July... so I thought I would do one right now to bring it back. But instead of choosing just one, I wanted to do both of these because I really like them both! I have definitely been feeling the need for some uplifting words of inspiration. I am feeling pretty homesick and I find myself wishing that the semester would just be over already so I can have summer with my family and friends and then go study abroad! But alas, I have six more weeks so I need to rally and stay positive.

Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen.

I want to try and start my day off on a positive note with being happy and not focusing on how tired or cranky I am. Instead, I am going to try to drink a glass of water every morning, along with a healthy breakfast. I usually wake up and dwell on my sleepiness for about a good half hour. Instead, I am going to be grateful for all the possibilities of the day.

We never noticed the beauty because we were too busy trying to create it.

I am currently a part of two creative processes - the first is an abstract play I am acting in called The Gas Heart and the second is our dance show which I am light designing for this coming week. I find myself being so caught up in the physical act of creating that I often times do not take a step back to observe the beauty that has been created. I am going to try to appreciate my work and appreciate the beauty of hard work, collaboration, talent, and creativity.

Do these quotes apply to you? I hope you have a delightful Tuesday!!
