Monthly Favorites | May

Pozdravi - hello in Slovenian!
It is that time of the month again (not that time) - MONTHLY FAVORITES
For the first time in a few months, I didn't even need to think about my favorites for very long because they all were so obvious to me!
Let's get cracking...

This is probably one of my top five favorite scents of all time. It is just so lovely and fresh. The only downside is that I do not think that scent lingers for very long :( The Shimmer Mist clearly gives a shimmery/glittery effect on my skin when I spray it which I think is nice for summer.

Okay yes I have already talked about this mascara before back in March in my Current Beauty Favorites post BUT I CAN'T HELP MENTIONING IT AGAIN! I have been getting lots of compliments recently about how my lashes look longer and very pronounced and yet NATURAL! It is all courtesy of this mascara. To be honest, I bought it because I thought it had beautiful packaging but now that I have been using it for about two months, I have come to appreciate and love it for the quality and results. It does not clump at all but rather provides you with a very luxurious, thick-lashed look. Also, it says that it is a growing potion and I do believe it has lengthened my eyelashes :)

Recently picked these up and I think they look pretty cool :)

Loving this scent! It is only the mini candle but I think I am going to go back and purchase the big version. Thanks again Bath & Body Works!

MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!! So, during our little cheeky Memorial Day trip to the mall, I walked by the NARS section in Sephora and stared at the concealer for about five minutes, debating in my head if I wanted to finally make the splurge and buy the illustrious $29 concealer I have been coveting and lusting over for months. After weighing ALL the pros (and the one con - the price), I decided it would be probably the best makeup decision I could possibly make and purchased it. I will do a personal review probably in the next week so that I can basically tell you everything you've heard about it before but in my own words (haha).

This foundation is so light and smells very fresh. I have been using it during the week days because I work for 8 hours in a coffee factory for my summer job and I need something light on my skin. Especially now that it is getting hotter, I am going to need something lightweight and refreshing and this is such a great choice!

This is such a moisturizing lip product and is very pigmented. Curviest Caramel is a nice pinkish nude and the color looks very natural and pretty. I want more chubby sticks now!

This necklace is actually my sister's but we share accessories when I am home. I recently wore this to a night out with my friends and I love the length of the chain and the simplicity of the teardrop crystal.

and...

This shirt is from Anthropologie. It is a silver see-through tank top. I wear it tucked into a skirt, usually with a cardigan.

The ring is from a little outdoor shop island in Covent Garden in London, UK. I got it five years ago the first time I was in England and it is very sentimental to me <3

So that is it for my May favorites!

Check out my last Monthly Favorites post, which was a combination of March and April :)

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear your thoughts!
Have you tried any of these products - if yes, how are they for you?
If no, would you try one out?
What have you been loving - I would love some recommendations!

Sabon | Delicate Jasmine Body Scrub

Ciao!
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite exfoliant body scrubs. This is a Body Scrub from Sabon in the scent Delicate Jasmine.

Key Ingredients
Dead Sea Salts | The waters of the Dead Sea have been renowned for their therapeutic effects since ancient times. It has many key elements to improving our overall health. Magnesium is important for combating stress, slowing skin aging, and calming the nervous system. Calcium increases circulation and strengthens your bones and nails. Potassium energizes the body and balances your skins moisture. It is a crucial mineral to replenish following an intense exercise. Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles.
Soybean Oil | Soy-based skin care products can even out skin tone and can correct pigmentation brought about by hormonal changes and damaging sun exposure. It can also help moisturize the collagen below the skin surface and it can smooth out fine lines thus preventing premature aging.
Sweet Almond Oil | This oil when applied to the skin is rich in vitamins and minerals. It relieves physical stress and muscle pain, is easily absorbed as a moisturizer thus smoothing and softening the skin, reduces scarring on the skin, improves the complexion, and is great for stretch marks.
Macadamia Oil | This oil absorbs well into the skin and infuses you with moisture. It firms your skin and helps you maintain a youthful glow. The amount of palmitoleic acid that naturally occurs in your skin decreases as you age but by using macadamia oil, you restore your skin's palmitoleic acid levels and decrease your skin's rate of deterioration while discouraging wrinkle formation.

All my research can from three great websites:
(Soybean Oil info)
(Dead Sea Salts info)
(Sweet Almond Oil info and Macademia Oil info)

Delicate Jasmine Body Scrub not only smells absolutely beautiful, but it is so luxurious and beneficial for your skin and health.

I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day as part of a gift set from the Sabon in NYC that I go to (in Soho). I tried it out when I came home in a bath and it felt AMAZING! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who feels their skin needs a rejuvenating boost of love. Sabon has a wide range of products in a variety of delicious scents.
This is not a sponsored post - I am just a huge fan of Sabon products :)

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know what you think / if you have tried one of their products!

Long Weekend Part III | Family Time

Hello there!

So as a close to my amazing weekend, here is Part 3. Monday morning I woke up after sleeping in a bit and made my bed, which is one of my favorite morning rituals...

Then I watched some Youtubers, read some blogs, edited my own blog posts, and listened to Spotify.

One particular blogger who I have been obsessed with lately is Lily Pebbles.

Then I helped unload the groceries that my mom brought home - mostly all the food we were going to make for our Memorial Day cook out.

Notice the family obsession with Snapple and my brothers' obsession with Powerade?

Then me, my mom, and my sister Mary got cooking and prepping. We cut lots of fresh fruit to make a fruit salad (watermelon, kiwi, strawberries, red grapes, and blueberries).

I cut up pepperoni and extra sharp cheddar cheese for our tortellini pasta. My mom cooked and chilled the pasta.

Then my mom (like the superwoman she is) grilled the meats on our grill, while my dad binge watched Sherlock in our family room... haha :) We had hot dogs, bratwursts, cheeseburgers, grilled chicken, and grilled potatoes.

These were the bowls on the kitchen table that could have fed about double my family of six.

Then we all went into a food coma and woke up about an hour later. My dad continued to watch Sherlock, my younger brother Connor and older brother Patrick continued on their computers, and my mom, Mary, and I went to the mall...

Mary needed a pair of graduation shoes and finally chose the black heels with the yellow pop at the heel.

Here's Mary scoping out some clothing... she turned right as I was taking my cheeky photo of her.

I ended up getting a pair of sunglasses from Forever 21, a maxi dress from Charlotte Russe, and makeup from Sephora (the most important part of the trip). I had set out to get a new pair of tennis shoes but I couldn't find a pair that I wanted.

Here is what we got from Sephora...

My mom needed a new foundation so she got the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation. She also got the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Color Correcting Adjust. I have the regular Light Primer from Smashbox and a little goes a long way! I got a new kohl eyeliner from Stila in Stingray. I also FINALLY got the concealer I have been lusting over for months - the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (in Chantilly aka the palest one - go figure). Mary got a beauty blender called the Sculptor. We were all very, very happy!! <3

It was a great last day of the long weekend and I feel so blessed to have amazing friends and family who surround me.
I hope you had a great weekend :)

Long Weekend Part II | Feising + Fun

Hello my lovely readers :) So as Part II to this long day weekend, this post is dedicated to Saturday and Sunday! I Irish danced for 14 years and a huge part of that culture is the FEIS (which is the name for a regular competition). This is the second year I have not competed but it is still always an amazing time going to support my friends and little sister at their competitions. This weekend were the Akron and Cleveland Feises - which are super close to home as we live in a suburb of Cleveland. My little sister Mary (almost 14) danced beautifully both days - I was so proud, especially since she is wearing my old dress and looks absolutely stunning in it :) Some of my other best friends competed as well, receiving spectacular results and boosts of confidence as they train for Nationals this July.

Here are some photos for your enjoyment:

Instead of wearing her massive wig (shown to the right), she decided she wanted to try something different :)

I did her hair in a side bun with a pouf and it turned out really beautifully. Our dance teacher loved it!

One of my best friends in the entire world, Mary Gael, came along to spend the day with us. She slept over the night before. Waking up early to drive to Akron the next morning was pretty rough but we stopped and got some caffeine at Dunkin Donuts (so clearly all was well from that point on).
Mary Gael decided that since she is a princess, she should wear a crown... I think it looks lovely on her <3

We had a bit too much downtime before Mary danced so we had a mini photoshoot outside on the field where we set up camp. This is my older brother Patrick (22) mocking Mary and the typical "13-year old girls pose with friends". Real cute.

This is my mom!! She is beautiful, right? :)

This is Meaghan (14), one of Mary's best friends. She dances a year ahead of Mary so they do not have to compete against one another.

This is me doing Mary's makeup. I am basically her personal assistant and motivational coach when I go to feises with her now since I don't have to dance myself.

ALSO, trying to do liquid, winged eyeliner on someone else is HELLA HARD.

One of the many makeup palettes we brought for Mary's stage makeup... completely necessary!

My stunning friend Taylor (19). She is a remarkable dancer and clearly super beautiful.

Mary on her way to her stage to do her first round.

My mom touching up Mary's lipstick.

Waiting for her competition to start.
I think I was so focused on her makeup that I failed to do my own haha.

Hydrating after dancing gorgeously!

This was unavoidable.

Lots of pink going on all day!

My two favorite ladies.

Wonderful friends and dancers (left to right): Alyssa (20), Cassie (18), and Taylor (19).

Leaving the first feis after a successful, happy day!

P.S.
LOTS OF SELFIE SNAPCHATS HAPPENED......

Sunday was the Cleveland Feis... unfortunately I did not take nearly as many photos because we were inside the whole day but here are a few!

I know almost every one of these girls and I was so proud of them! This was the Over 19 Open Championships competition (which would be the one I would compete in if I still danced).

Mary and Meaghan both got the same place in each of their comps and were so thrilled :)

After the feis, we headed to our favorite Irish pub and had a delicious dinner.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and I hope you had an amazing weekend :)

Happy Memorial Day to all my fellow Americans!

Long Weekend Part I | Classy Dinner w/ Friends

Hello lovelies! This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend which means a three day weekend (everyone being off Monday) and my weekend has been very exciting! Because a lot has happened and is still happening, I have decided to break the weekend up into THREE PARTS!

Part I is Friday :) My friends and I decided to have a classy dinner where we each brought something to eat and we would dress up and be adorable! Here are some of the photos I took - I hope you enjoy!

The table was simply stunning. My friend Kelly hosted and we used her parents' good crystal because WE ARE JUST THAT CLASSY.

Here are a few candids of my silly friends...

This is Alyssa... she is my light.

This is Kelly eating the chip and looking precious and Mary Gael looking so happy!!

Mary Ellen (on the right) made delicious homemade guacamole and we couldn't stop munching as an appetizer.

This is Kasey and Mary Ellen, both looking fierce in neutral tones.

Now on to the food!!!!

This was the set up. We took our plates up and went through the line.

I made the fruit salad and veg salad :)

Kasey made grilled shrimp skewers. SO GOOD!

Kelly, as the host, made our main portion of the meal which was Caprese mac n cheese, inspiration having come from Pinterest.

Mary Gael made these RED VELVET WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING AND A SECRET OREO ON THE BOTTOM cupcakes. I don't need to tell you how good they were - you can tell.

Alyssa brought us more delicious dessert - oatmeal raisin cookies and mini chocolate cupcakes!

This was my plate :)

Then after we ate, we went outside for a bonfire and LOTS of catching up and reminiscing. We had to put on sweaters when it got a bit nippy.

Our friend Helen, all the way on the right, came for the bonfire because she had a family thing, but this is the whole group right before we all headed home.

I had such a lovely evening with my girls.

Stay tuned for Part II which will be up very soon!

Hope you enjoyed <3
