Monthly Favorites | August

SO, after over a week of not having my laptop to be able to blog on, I finally have it returned and fixed! I am so relieved and now without further ado, here are all of monthly favorites from August, starting with the beauty products and a book:

- Philosophy's Purity Facial Cleanser is amazing! I used it for about three weeks with the Clarisonic and now that I am at college again (without my mother's Clarisonic), I have been using it just by itself. As I work it into a lather, I can feel my skin being refreshed. I really enjoy the general scent of it and so far I like how it has been cleaning my face.

- Now, everyone and their mother has been talking about the Maybelline Color Tattoos and I thought I would hop on the bandwagon and give them a whirl. I really have been enjoying 'Bold Gold' and 'Tough as Taupe'. They are extremely matte and I have been finding that I don't need to wear an eye primer underneath because the shadow remains matte and keeps my upper liquid eyeliner in place. Both also have a very solid, bright pigmentation.

-I am in love with LUSH. I recently got this Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub and it has been heavenly. I love washing my face in the morning with this scrub because it wakes me up. The scent is pleasant yet very strong but it does not linger after you wash it off.

- The Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray has been my lifesaver these past few weeks. It has been very hot and I find that the De-Slick does what it sets out to do. I spray it after putting on my foundation and concealer but before I set my makeup in with a matte powder. The only negative is the smell - not my favorite but thankfully it does not linger.

- The Real Techniques brushes are beautiful. I am so glad that I invested in these. I have mostly been using the essential foundation brush because I find that I like the way it smoothes out my foundation.
- Soap & Glory's Hand Food has become my absolute favorite lotion. It... smells...  INCREDIBLE. I am a bit addicted and know that I better slow down because I can't waste any of it. It definitely moisturizes my hands and leaves them soft and refreshed.

- Mindy Kaling is hilarious for those of you who do not know. She is from The Office, No Strings Attached, This is the End, Wreck-it Ralph, etc. This book is a tour of her life where she discusses growing up as a fat child, romance, friendship, her career, and Hollywood. I think it is clever, witty, and up-lifting.

Now on to the movies I recommend you see!

- We're the Millers: Seriously, go see this. The entire cast is perfect and I was dying of laughter in the theater!
- Like Crazy: I think I mentioned this movie before as being on of my favorites... actually maybe not but it is so if you are in the mood to cry, watch this beautiful romantic love story.
- Ocean's Eleven: .... and also Twelve and Thirteen. These movies are just so detailed, clever, and funny. Also, Brad Pitt is gorgeous in them.
- The First Time: I just watched this with my roommate Michelle and we were both swooning over how lovely this movie is! It is so real. It is well-casted, well-performed, and the story line is so interesting.

So what do you think!? What were some of your favorites from last month or just recently? It feels so good to be able to write a blog post again :)

    1. I don't think it is harsh at all - I would give it a try! You just have to stir it and massage onto your face and it feels very refreshing and smells nice!!! <3 Let me know if you do!

  10. I didn't care too much for the Urban Decay makeup setting spray, I thought I would like it a lot more. I usually love Urban decay products. I did a review on the all nighter spray. Great post and thanks for the follow, I am following you on GFC too.

    1. Yeah I think a primer would be just as good as the setting spray. The only negative I have with the product is I don't like the smell. Thank you for your comment and I will check your blog out now :)
