August Music!

Image
Hello there!  Here is the music I have been loving this month. I have been listening to a lot of indie rock and alternative bands lately. If you haven't heard of some of these, check them out and let me know what you think! Ellie Goulding - I am assuming that anyone who hasn't been living underneath a rock has heard of my girl Ellie. She has been my favorite singer for the past five years and I can't believe how big she has gotten! Her music is so inspiring, beautiful, and exciting. She keeps cranking out new music and it is so incredible. Here are three of her latest singles: Burn You My Everything Ritual American Authors - I have been listening to them on repeat. They are an American-indie rock band from Brooklyn, NY and they just have such a great vibe. I definitely think their song "Best Day of My Life" has been my summer song! Check these out: Best Day of My Life Best I Could Do Believer Foals - These guys are awesome. They are an

September Wishlist

1) Oversized Glasses - I am actually getting these within the next couple days but they have been on my wishlist for ages now! I have had the same pair of glasses for the past 4 years and I am excited for a change in look!  2) Merona Red Messenger Bag - $35. I have been eyeing this at Target for the past month and I am determined to get it for September and being back at school.  3) Oxfords - I need to get my hands on a pair of oxfords. Anyone know where I can get a cheap but awesome pair?  4) Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder - $34. Last time I was at Sephora, I almost bought this and am now regretting it. I have to go back and make the purchase because I keep hearing about how great it is! I love a soft matte finish to complete my look.   5) Urban Decay Basics Palette - $31. I love all six of these shades and I have been really wanting a new palette. I tend to wear lighter shades of eyeshadow during the day.  6) Topshop Hooded Lightweight Jacket -

DIY: Polaroid Clothesline

Image
Hello there!  So, I have been such a slacker blogger and have not posted since Monday :( I am so sorry. I have been super busy spending time with all my friends since the majority of them leave this weekend to return to college. But, this post is a great way to get back in the swing of things! It is a DIY that I found off of Pinterest which I am going to put in my dorm room.  I move back in one week so I will do a dorm room tour as soon as I am settled in. Until then, here is what I am making to spice up the corners of the room with photos! I did this trial run and took these pics to give you a visual of the DIY project. I put the clothesline up in my living room. You will need: - Wood Clothespins - Tacks - Scissors - Twine / Twisted Mason Line / String (whichever you can get your hands on) - Polaroids / Printed out photos First off, you will need to cut the string long enough the hold as many photos as you want. I printed out 40 polaroids b

Song of the Week No. 10

Image
Hello there! So here we are - my 10th song of the week post. I have decided not to cheat this week and limit myself to only choosing ONE.   "Pumpin Blood" by NONONO.  I hope you like it because I have been loving blasting this as loud as possible whenever I hear it, no matter where or when   I hear it.  The bunny at the end  makes  the video.  Let me know what you think! xx

INSTA-WEEK No7

Hello! I haven't done an Insta-week in what seems like forever! I'm not sure I will keep doing these kind of posts so let me know in the comments if you really like them. Here is a quick collage of some recent pics :) I actually recently just won a giveaway from an Instagram account I follow so I have been a bit more obsessed with instagramming than usual. So, follow me for more at: graceleneghan12.  Hope you enjoyed! <3 xx

So then we went to Sephora...

Image
Hello :)  So I have to share this with all of you because I am BEYOND excited right now!! Today is my little sister's 13th birthday (Happy Day of Birth Mary!) and we decided to go on a little shopping trip to Sephora aka the mothership. Mary, being a beauty insider member, was eligible to get a gift for her birthday and my mom needed some new products! This is what happened... we became VIB's...  So most of these products are my mother's because she really needed some new products to combat her mild rosacea, which causes her redness on her cheeks.  So she got a great new foundation which is the  Clinique Even Better Compact , a facial moisturizer called  Dermadoctor Calm, Cool, & Corrected , the Philosophy's Purity Facial Cleanser , a Pro-Angled Contour Brush , and finally the new Clarisonic Aria Sonic Skin Cleansing System . We each actually got our own specialized brush and are going to share it (but it is mostly for my mom and Mary because I will b

DIY Crafts: Notebook & Mason Jars

Image
Hello there!  So lately I have become addicted to Pinterest (again). As I am preparing to go back to school, I have been feeling really inspired to try out some DIY projects for my dorm! 1) This first DIY is to spruce up a regular old spiral notebook and make it awesome.  I got the idea from a pin of Melisa from  Pie 'N' The Sky 's triangle love notebook. When I saw it, I immediately thought, I can do that - I should give it a whirl! All you need is... - a notebook (mine had a plain black cover and was $1 from Target) - glue (I used Rubber Cement but a glue stick would work perfectly fine as well) - scissors - photos / magazine clippings / cardboard ** - Mod Podge and a brush  ** I used snippings from National Geographic, Vogue, and Seventeen, as well as construction paper to write lyrics from my fav song. I also took my 'Mylo Xyloto' Coldplay album and cut a pattern from the insert in the CD with photos of them playing at concerts.  N

Flower Love

Image
My little sister Mary, who is almost 13, makes headbands, bows, and clips for her hair out of cut material from old shirts and cheap fake flowers from the store... and they are amazing !! She is already a beauty/fashion guru in the making. I feel so inspired by her to be more creative with styling my hair, while saving a bit of money :) So here are some photos of her clips and headbands: Flower Love was inspired by a photo we saw on Pinterest*. She immediately wanted to recreate the look with a fishtail braid when we saw it because she just bought some daisies that looked quite similar. Here's me casually sitting in some grass modeling her work... (Secret: I was actually wearing boxer shorts underneath this dress and a car filled with attractive guys  drove by... I was kind of maybe a bit mortified because when standing you could definitely see the boxers. Needless to say, we ran and hid). Flower Power are two of her flower headbands that, in my opinion, are just

Song of the Week No. 9

Image
So you know when you are obsessed with a song and you play it over and over because it is just so good BUT THEN you have played it 17 times too many and you become sick of it and whenever you hear it you don't feel that same passionate love you felt when you had first heard it? Yeah, I know about that feeling too BECAUSE I DO IT TO EVERY SINGLE SONG I LIKE. But, I guess it is a good thing in a way because I can continue to create these weekly song of the week posts because I change my favorite song about every 5 or 6 days. But, for the second week in a row, I can't choose just one song - so TWO it is! First off, I can't get enough of Lorde right now. Her song "Royals" is quirky, clever, and catchy. First time I heard it was actually when catching up on my Taryn Southern subscription on YouTube. She did a cover with Julia Price and the music video is awesome; however, the original song is still in my opinion much better. SO check them out below:   (original

Monthly Favorites | July

Image
I know this is a bit late, considering we are already 8 DAYS into August, but I figured I would still do a monthly favorites post for July because I have been loving so many new things! So here are all the things I have been loving!  - These are my two favorite shoes at the moment. The green pair of flats on the left are from a thrift shop called The Red Light in Portland. They are a deep foresty green velvet material and they were $8!  The pair to the right are Mad Love flats from Target.  They are such a funky pattern and are really comfortable.  - This is my everyday wallet which I have had for the past THREE YEARS! It is literally falling apart but I haven't been able to get rid of it and buy a new one. It was from a little shop in New Jersey called Jenna and Molly .  - I have been using this vintage little bowl to hold all my post earrings. I found it in a box while cleaning my house and I decided to put it to use.  - I have been OBSESSED with the Rimmel

My First Time | TAG

Image
Hello there! So I have been tagged by one of my favorite bloggers, Sinead from Dreaming Again , who you all should check out if you haven’t already, to do the “My First Time” tag! I have watched and read so many Youtubers/bloggers do this tag and I have secretly always wanted to do one. So, now the opportunity has arisen and I am very excited to share with you all of these “first times”. The Rules: •   You must share the following firsts and give the story or the context behind them.  •   You must Tag 10 other bloggers to do to the tag.  •   No tag backs First Best Friend -  I believe my first best friend would probably be a boy named Zach who was the son of my parents’ really good friends. They had two kids, one daughter, who was my older brother’s age, and one son, who was my age. We spent loads of time with them when I was little and I can remember loving our play dates, etc. We were besties probably from when I was two to about five.  Fi

Song of the Week No. 8

Image
Hello there!  This week's song was so hard for me to choose so I am cheating and picking TWO!  First up is "Blue Monday" by New Order aka my favorite band right now.  Second choice is "Claire de Lune" by Flight Facilities, who I mentioned in my July Music! because I have been obsessed. I hope you enjoy!! Let me know what you think :) xx

Dorm Room Wishlist

Image
Hello there! So I have less than a month now till I go back to school and I am so excited for some new bits I have for my dorm. I still have a few things I really would love to get and here are some of them: Starting in the top left corner is a tapestry. I LOVE tapestries and I think they can make a room look more full, warm, and cozy. Next to that is an old fashioned cigar box. When I was in Portland I bought one at a thrift shop and I have been using it to store my lipsticks. I think they are great for storage and look interesting on a vanity. Below the cigar box is a Rory Dobner Cat cushion. I love this pillow and hope I can find a cheaper substitute! I definitely want to continue buying more and more pillows for my bed to make it a decorative couch during the day when people are visiting. To the right of the pillow is a cyan design twin bird-nest container. I have one that looks quite similar but I want another one to hold my bracelets. To the right of the bird-nest ho
