Dorm Room Wishlist

Dorm Room Wishlist

Hello there! So I have less than a month now till I go back to school and I am so excited for some new bits I have for my dorm. I still have a few things I really would love to get and here are some of them:

Starting in the top left corner is a tapestry. I LOVE tapestries and I think they can make a room look more full, warm, and cozy. Next to that is an old fashioned cigar box. When I was in Portland I bought one at a thrift shop and I have been using it to store my lipsticks. I think they are great for storage and look interesting on a vanity. Below the cigar box is a Rory Dobner Cat cushion. I love this pillow and hope I can find a cheaper substitute! I definitely want to continue buying more and more pillows for my bed to make it a decorative couch during the day when people are visiting. To the right of the pillow is a cyan design twin bird-nest container. I have one that looks quite similar but I want another one to hold my bracelets. To the right of the bird-nest holder is another awesome pillow. It is a Laurel Burch tapestry pillow called "Native Felines". This one I really want because it is only $26 from Colorful Critters. Starting back at the left side behind several items is a Crate & Barrel Cuzco Rug. On top of the rug is a tea canister which I want to use to store pens and pencils. Next to that is a French Perle Blue Accent Plate. These little plates are great for a decorative way to organize jewelry, etc. Next to the plate is a photo of some rose fairy lights. I definitely want to get my hands on some of these and possibly line them across my wall to highlight my photos. Below the lights is a poster of an American map. I have two that I have saved, one from a National Geographic magazine and one that I found lying about in our basement. I think they are another great way to fill the hollow walls of a dorm and make it more cozy and interesting. Next to the map are some more cute plates - specifically a set of 4 Butterfly Bloom Tea Plates. And finally, above the plates are some skull votive candles. These are awesome. Being that dorms do not allow real candles, I want to get some unqiue holders like these skull ones and then put battery powered tea lights inside to give the impression of real candlelight.

What do you have in your room/dorm to make it reflect your style, interests, and personality?
xx

  2. We need to just bring candles and hide them. I'm done with our school's silliness.

  4. I've spent the last two years dorming and my favorite part was moving in the first week and transforming it into my own space. I love those skull candle holders, and if you're reaaally careful and leave your candle near an open window (with no curtains) you can probably get away with real candles. At least that's what I did. And the lights are a must-have, I put up a string of Christmas ones because I HATED the bright florescent lights of my dorm and the ones you have pictured are sooo cute.

    1. Yeah I think I might just have to sneak some real ones in :) and yes I agree, I hate the florescent lighting in dorms. The Christmas lights will make it much more cozy! Thank you for your comment <3
